Matteo T. Arriaga, 20, of Ridley Park, was initially charged in January after posting 271 videos of lewd content, including a 23-second video clip recorded on his phone in a Snapchat message thread with a person identified as “Gia," Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said.
Following that discovery, investigators seized four Apple iPhones, two laptop computers, a custom PC, and two external hard drives, they said.
Further investigation led detectives to associate "Gia" with a woman named Gia Cubler, also known as Gia Carroll. Her messages included conversations about making more child pornography, the DA said.
Cubler, 20, of Woodlyn, allegedly admitted to making the videos and sending them to Arriaga in an interview, investigators said.
They ultimately found 271 unique videos and 156 unique images of child pornography on Arriaga’s phone, including 30 images and eight videos of infant-or toddler-aged children, DA Stollsteimer said.
The couple have been charged with multiple felony counts for the production, distribution, and possession of child pornography, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault with a person less than ten years old, endangering the welfare of children, and conspiracy.
Arriaga was remanded to George W. Hill Correctional Facility in lieu of 10 percent of $500,000 bail, authorities said.. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for June 22.
Cubler was also remanded to the county jail on $500,000 cash bail and is awaiting a June 22 preliminary hearing.
Investigators believe that there may additional as-yet-unidentified victims in this case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the District Attorney’s Office at 610-891-4161.
